Ayr winning streaky to end

Plenty value today…

Ayr have been very impressive and may make a claim for the play offs, but Dunfermline are my tips for the title and I’m taking them to be too strong today at 8/5.

St Mirren at home at 11/8 should have enough to see of Livingston.

Add Arbroath away for a Tasty Treble.

Have a collection of other picks from lower league also, fancy Dundee to do better at St Johnstone too:

2 points – Dunfermline 8/5

2 points – St Mirren 11/8

2 points – Arbroath 10/11

2 points – Elgin 5/6

2 points – Annan 5/6

2 point – Dumbarton 15/13

1 point – Dundee 13/5

1 point – Morton 16/5

1 point – Clyde 5/6

Dundee pick of bunch

Not much to choose from this week…

Dundee look value to me at 3/4 against a team who were playing two leagues below last season. Ayr dangerous and have done well against bigger teams but Dundee been unfortunate so far and need to use this to get off the mark.

Raith have multiple injury problems but will still have enough to see off their Fife rivals at home.

That’s the two strongest fancies but add Arbroath and Clyde to win tough away tests as underdogs and you have a happy pig.

Hearts, Hibs, Airdrie – all tempting but don’t make the cut.

2 points – Dundee to beat Ayr at 3/4

2 points – Raith to beat East Fife, 4/5

1 point – Arbroath away to Dumbarton at 7/4

1 point – Clyde to beat Peterheid at 23/10

Europa League

Molde will most likely be too strong for Hibs tonight. Danish league teams have consistently outperformed Scottish sides in recent years, at least outside of Old Firm.

1.73 with Betfair is good enough:

2 points on Molde to beat Hibs at 1.73, (Betfair)

Oink!

Porkers special midweek picks!

The early rounds of Scotland’s diddy cup, (Challenge Cup), is a happy hunting ground for the pig, however a couple of hugely successful years for punters has seen the bookies tighten up and good value is not quite so loosely available.

But we can still stick by the same principle and back against all the u21 teams – all good value.

These 5 are the pick of the bunch:

2 points – Falkirk, 4/6

2 points – Forfar, 8/11

2 points – Dundee Utd, 10/11

2 points – Raith, 2/5

2 points – Ross County, 10/11

Add the below for a clean sweep:

1 point – Annan, 7/5

1 point – East Stirling, 9/4

1 point – Clyde, 10/11

Second round of league games

This weekends picks:

Arbroath at home is pick of the day, great value at 5/6.

Queens Park should also be strong enough to take care of Berwick probably low scoring

Killie also strongly fancied, Hamilton good value at 11/2 and think Rangers will win comfortably against St Mirren at this stage of the season. Rangers -1 at 4/5 is good value.

In detail:

2 points – Arbroath, 5/6

2 points – Queens Park 5/6

2 points – Kilmarnock 5/6

2 points – Hamilton, 11/2

2 points – Rangers -1

2 points – Hibs, 6/4

1 point – Raith, 8/11

1 point – Inverness, evens

That’s all folks!

Opening Day Picks

First picks of the season, (in order of preference, all prices Betfred…)

2 points – Morton, 6/5

2 points – Hibs 3/4,

2 points – Clyde 4/6

1 point – Raith 13/10

1 point – Arbroath 11/10

1 point – Airdrie 6/4

2018 / 2019 Season Predictions

Early bird picks for the new season. Always tricky at this point with no games played, we’ll review come end of August.

Let’s start with the Championship – wide open, I think 7 sides have a chance – at least.

Ross County deserved favourites – but – seems to be a lot of haphazard spending there, smells a bit of desperate measures. Pressure and therefore expectancy to go up. They may well buy their way straight back up again – but at 2/1, not worth it.

Partick – nah.

Falkirk – complete unknown, depends how Hartley has recruited – but the atmosphere down there puts me off them, very negative.

Inverness were my going to be my pick after finishing last season so strongly, but given the summer comings and goings, they don’t look like they will be quite strong enough to win it, so I’ve gone off them.

Dunfermline have had a bit of staff turnaround, but look to me to be slightly stronger than the side who started and finished the season strongly last year. I’m taking a gamble on them this year to win the league at 10/1.

Lastly – good outside bet – Morton 20/1.

League 1.. I was tempted by Airdrie, but think they will fall short. Dumbarton certainly capable, but bouncing straight back always difficult. My choice is between Arbroath and Raith… and to pick one I will plump for Raith as over the copurse of season, their full time status should get them through and 2/1 is just about good enough. I’ll be betting on Arbroath at 8/1 too though…

League 2.. has to be Clyde for me at 11/4…. there’s a buzz about the place…

Difficult to find value on a Premiership bet. Celtic are obviously everyones picks, but no value. Think Rangers will be second at least, but 4/9 is too stingy. As an alternative bet, I’m taking Motherwell at same price, (4/9), to be bottom six, be amazed if they hit top 6.

And to finish, I have a couple of bets on the English game – rarely venture out of Scotland but I am going for Liverpool as the value bet for the Premiership at 4/1 and Sunderland to win league 1 – the Jack Ross effect, (3/1).
