Saturday bacon feast

It’s a Saturday betfest!

The pig smells plenty bacon today – pick of the day is Inverness at just short of evens. Morton are not doing well under Johansson and Inverness are strong. Queen of the South are next best, confident they will take care of a stubborn Alloa side, Dobbie probably the difference again. Ayr make the Tasty Treble. With a big crowd behind them I expect them to get back on track with a win.

Add Hearts for a fab 4 fold and a revamped Dundee Utd for a 5.

Plenty more value to be found, detail below. Enjoy! ?

2 points – Inverness @ 17/20
2 points – Queen of the South @ 8/11
2 points – Ayr @ 6/5
2 points – Hearts @ 8/15
2 points – Dundee Utd @ 5/6

2 points – Arbroath @ 4/7
2 points – Elgin @ 9/20
1 point – Partick Thistle @ 11/5
1 point – Montrose @ 7/2
1 point – Forfar @ 20/23
1 point – Stirling @ 16/5

Follow the sheep

Aberdeen are in good form and Saints aren’t showing any signs of turning the corner. 1/3 is good value but we can squeeze a bit more by going for Aberdeen – 1, as it should be comfortable.

Add Hibs with their new manager to beat Hamilton at Easter Road, (it was 6-0 last time), and I’m taking Raith to keep their slim title chances alive by beating Arbroath at home.

Lastly Queens Park are worth a bet at Peterhead @ 11/2.

The outrights are worth a wee review now as well – take a peek at an overhauled Dundee Utd, who you can get at 5/1, and at the same price you’ll find Clyde, who are the form team in Division 2. With a home match against Albion Rovers, now could be a good time to board the train.

That’s all folks! Enjoy.

3 points – Aberdeen-1 @ 6/5
2 points – Hibs @ 4/7
2 points – Raith Rovers @ 6/4
2 points – Queens Park @ 11/2

Sorry Saints

Less to pick from this week with the Scottish Cup, and the lower leagues are throwing up some tight fixtures.

Dundee Utd were a give away from the bookies at 5/2 earlier in the week, unfortunately you’ll get nowhere near that price now. Need to start posting these picks earlier so my army of followers don’t miss out. St Mirren looked very poor in midweek and have now lost their captain, though there is a chance of improvement given the number of new players settling in. But 5/2 Utd deserves substantial investment.

Stirling are the other stand out pick at 4/7 away to the dire Berwick Rangers.

Rangers are just about worth it at 4/5 to make the Tasty Treble.

After that, scraping the barrel a bit – Montrose and Queens Park, both at evens, look likely to win – however both Stenhousemuir have made a lot of new signings, and Cowdenbeath are a solid Division 2 side.

3 points – Dundee Utd @ 5/2
2 points – Stirling @ 4/7
1 point – Rangers @ 4/5
1 point – Montrose @ evens
1 point – Queens Park @ evens

Top 3 for me

Lower leagues largely wiped out so a focus on Championship – and top 3 provide value.

Dundee Utd have recruited well and are pick of bunch – we’ve missed the boat a bit here, but will still take a reduced 6/10. Ross County a strange one… Dunfermline initially looked the value bet here but are now well over-cooked leaving top of the league leaders Ross County as 11/5 outsides.. so I’m switching sides and taking the cheuchters. Ayr really need to win away to Alloa to keep their season going and I think they’re good enough to do it.

Montrose are my pick of the bunch in league 1 and are a value bet at evens to win the derby. And I’ll cautiously take an unreliable Raith to do their job against Forfar.

Dundee and Livi in the Prem are both worth a punt at good odds.

2 points – Dundee Utd @ 6/10
2 points – Montrose @ evens
2 points – Ross County @ 11/5
1 point – Ayr @ 10/11
1 point – Raith Rovers @ 3/4
1 point – Dundee @ 9/5
