Pigging the Underhogs

Navigating the bleak landscape in search of profit in the Covid world is a challenge, with teams struggling to find consistency. Even the Pig is meerly teetering above profit at 2.1% ROI. A couple of bad weeks could wipe that out.

Still, some predictable patterns have emerged, and probably in the most expected ways. Firstly, away teams have benefited. Makes sense. So much so that blindly backing all away teams since start of season would have seen a small profit. No fans have also proven to be a leveller with much more underdogs winning, home and away. So we try to stay away from short odds teams, especially home ones. Home advantage should be virtually nil.

Add to that the limited markets to choose from in Scotland and it’s difficult to find value. However the lower leagues opening up again brings us more scope.

So we have a few well priced selections this week, however Montrose and Inverness at just better than evens are still worth the risk as they are strongly fancied, especially Montrose. Add a nicely priced Stirling Albion away and you have a Tasty Treble. Some more generously priced selections could boost returns, even willing to risk a small wager on Queen of the South winning against an inconsistent Hearts side.
