Cup Stakes

Scottish Cup day today and whilst it can be minefield it can be a great opportunity for value if we can weed out the teams who will be on it.

Saints are a generous price at 5/4. Ayr are well known for spring a shock, bit Saints take a big following and a top atmosphere should mitigate complacency.

The Fake Saints are worth taking too. They will be motivated for a cup diversion from their shite season and are playing a club 3 divisions below for fuck sake, albeit a strong one. 19/20 is generous.

Completing the Tasty Treble is Queens Park in League 1. They can get back to winning ways and should be strong favourites against Clyde.

That’s your Tasty Treble!

I like Inverness away where Big Yogi can out-thick wee Billy Dodds and I’ve plumped with Stranraer away after their Chairman died this week. I already fancied them but that provides further motivation.

For a sixth, Dross County are good value against Livi at 5/2.

The picks are heartily recommended today. The Fab 5 can come in – don’t miss it! ?

Tasty Treble:
1 point – St Mirren @ 5/4
1 point – St Johnstone @ 19/20
1 point – Queens Park @ 6/5

Fab Five:
1 point – Inverness @ 13/10
1 point – Stranraer @ 6/4

Sexy Sixth
1 point – Ross County @ 5/2

Midweek Premier Picks

Motherwell have been very fortunate to be 4th in the league this year although the market seems to already know this as 10th place Dross County are favourites. Still worth a bet though.

Next two games are 50/50 but St Mirren and Dungdee are 9/4 and 14/5 respectively. Bit of money on Utd since they signed Tony Watt and he is currently top scorer. Time will tell but not particularly impressed. Only 6 months ago he was like a bad penny being passed aboot. He finally hits a purple patch after 10 years of trying and we’re supposed to believe he’s hot property? Don’t think Livi are any great shakes either so Dungdee are worth a punt at almost 3/1.

There’s your Tasty Treble!

I’ll put a small stake on St Johnstone. Small mind but Hearts seem a wee bit off balance after the Souttar affair and St Johnstone will be boosted by the break and new singings so 13/2 is worth a shot.

Tasty Treble:
1 point – Ross County @ 8/5
1 point – St Mirren @ 9/4
1 point – Dundee @ 14/5

Long shot:
0.5 points – St Johnstone @ 13/2

Tasty Treble:
1 point – Queens Park @ 7/5
1 point – Kelty Hearts @ 2/5
1 point – Montrose @ 16/5

Fab 5:
1 point – Morton @ 11/5
1 point – Raith Rovers @ 2/1

Seventh Heaven:
1 point – East Fife @ 11/5
1 point – Peterhead @ 11/10

Lean bacon

Being a bit mousy today. No particular reason, however a few strongly fancied favourites.

Queen of the South can be decent, but think the arrival of Mcinnes shoud give Killie a boost so 19/20 worth taking. Incidentally, there’s a good chance Killie might turn it around and win the league now, but Arbroath are still 5/1. For a team who are deservedly top of vthe league and have een the best team in the league over 20 games, this is a generous offering. If they don’t lose key players in January, could be worth considering.

Airdrie and Kelty are both strongl fancied, so much so we’ll take them at odds on to complete a somewhat tame treble. Still 11/2 all in though.

The afore mentioend Arbroath should be taken away to Ayr at evens, and Forfar at home can complete a more reewarding five fold at roughly 20/1.

For bigger returns, take Stenhousemuir and I think Cowdenbeath have a chance of starting a turnaround today against Annan, at a healthy 3/1.

Tame Treble:
1 point – Kilmarnock @ 19/20
1 point – Airdrie @ 4/6
1 point – Kelty Hearts @ 7/10

Favourites 5:
1 point – Arbroath @ evens
1 point – Forfar @ 17/20

Tastier Add-ons
1 point – Stenhousemuir @ 17/10
1 point – Cowdenbeath @ 3/1
