Diddy Cup Special!

Well it’s the first round of the Diddy Cup proper when the big guns like Montrose and Caernarfon Town enter the fray. With it being a Saturday fixture we shoudld expect reasonably strong sides to be fielded.

Still some kiddies teams in there and Montrose won’t be embarassed in front of their home fans to Kilmarnocks weans – that is nap of the day, even at 4/9.

The Welsh hilbillies are up in their droves to Hamilton to watch Caerarfon against Clyde. Clyde have started well, but the Welsh should be a decent match for them and they should be up for the wee adventure outside of their backwaters. 17/10 is worth taking.

Linfied on the other hand are a bit more weathered and enjoy trips abroad regularly – this will be seen as more of a nuisance whereas it’s a refreshing challenge for decent Highland team Buckie Thistle. 9/2 at home is worth a punt.

Lastly, Peterhead are coming together a bit, but have been woeful so far over all. Elgin have started reasonably well, so at 11/4 they are value in the Highland derby.

The first 3 make a very Tasty Treble, or all 4 for an even healthier return.

Enjoy! 🐷

Turkish Delights

The Turkish Sun shines a light on loads of value today with a lucky 13 selections. A lot of teams too strongly favoured. Rangers, Dundee Utd, St Mirren, Ross County – all tasty value as a result, and plenty in lower leagues too. Nap of the day Falkirk, getting stronger and Kelty have struggled. Away suits Falkirk as most of their home fans are greeting faced moaners.

Pigket Money

The kiddies are out to play again in my favourite betting fixtrues of the year!

Men aginst boys has been easy money in the past, but the markets have caught up now so not so much value to be had. Some strong kiddies teams too and never sure how seriously the men take it but there is still a big question of pride no matter who they play. Men don’t want to get beaten by weans.

As such i’m still taking a blanket punt on all kiddies teams, (except Elghin who are too short at 1/4), getting pumped oot.

Seems to be another game happening too over at Ibrox. Hard to predict Rangers in Europe and the Belgians are very tempting at over 4/1 after a one sided first-leg. You’d think Rangers should be able to get something but I can’t see them stopping St Gullywully scoring at least once. Both teams to score at evens seems extremely likely.

Porkers League 2 Preview

I think there is a lot of value to be found in League 2 this year as Bonnyrigg are overbacked. They take the mantle of favourites after recent romps from Cove Rangers and Kelty Hearts but they were differnt beasts. Bonnyrigg have just came up with pretty much their same team and a few more juniors. They will be decent but favourites? Not for me.

Second favourties are Stenhousemuir and very hotly tipped. Got stronger last year and have built on that team with promising signings. A lot of positivity and expectancy there, they are definitely contenders but I have a feeling they may not do quite enough to make the difference to jump straight to top spot from last seasons performance.

Dumbarton won’t be able to turn thngs around quickly enough top bounce back up as champions.

Forfar are possibly the richest team in the division and were strong last year. 6/1 is too big here. They are still a bit short up front but have expecetd signings to make, might depend how they do in the loan market. Definitely worthy of a bet at 6/1.

However Annan just pip them at same price of 6/1. They performed equally well as Forfar last season, and just missed out in the play offs. Although they don’t have the resources Forfar have, they’ve started very strongly in the cup and have the best manager in the division in Peter Murphy who continually yields a competitive side with minimal resources, and progresses a bit year on year. This year they might reach their destination.

Annan for me.

1 point – Annan @ 6/1
